Common to all Cafec filters is that the water flows evenly through as the pores in the filter are evenly distributed due to the roller method. Our filter for Aeropress has been rolled using something called the "wet-crepe method". This means that one side is a little smoother than the other. We recommend that the smooth side faces the coffee for best results, but both sides work well.
As a result of it being crepe only on one side, the total surface area is low, which gives the paper a high density.
Thanks to the high density of the paper, it also captures the fine coffee grounds better, which can contribute to a clearer brew.
They are made by the Japanese manufacturer Sanyo Sangyo and are produced in Beppu, Japan. Cafec filters are designed for specialty coffee and are considered the best on the market for hand brew.

Story
CAFEC is one of the original brands of Sanyo Sangyo. We have produced many coffee brewing tools centering on paper filters since our foundation in 1973. We feel proud to be the pioneer of paper filter manufacturing, especially, we are the first company who developed the cone-shaped paper filter in the world.
Since our foundation, we had continued to grow as an OEM manufacturer. However, always having the passion that "we want many coffee lovers to enjoy really delicious coffee at home" and "want to make products in which our passion is put in", then we launched our original brand "CAFEC" at last in 2016.
We roast coffee by ourselves too. All CAFEC products are designed based on our roasting knowledge and our brewing theory.
The brand message of CAFEC is "Happiest smile by coffee!" We hope everyone to enjoy really delicious coffee at home with their family and friends.
