This coffee is produced by Ivan Junqueira Ribeiro at Fazenda Cruzeiro, a historic farm in Brazil’s Campo das Vertentes region. Established in 1923, the farm covers 1,021 hectares, with 381 hectares dedicated to coffee cultivation. The farm grows a diverse range of varieties including Red Catuai, Yellow Bourbon, Mundo Novo, Topázio, Arara, and Rubi.
Coffee cherries are harvested only when fully ripe, using a combination of mechanical and careful hand-picking to ensure quality. After harvest, the cherries are spread out on large cement patios, where they are slowly sun-dried to develop sweetness and clarity in the cup.
This lot is sourced through Sancoffee, a certified B Corporation and specialty coffee cooperative founded in 2000. Since its beginning, Sancoffee has been a key driver of quality in the Campo das Vertentes region, supporting producers with sustainable farming practices, quality improvement, and direct access to international markets. Their work helps farmers build long-term partnerships with roasters around the world while continuing to push the standards for Brazilian specialty coffee.
