Our Story
This is exactly how Scandinavian Alps Coffee began.
We love making things from scratch, especially when it comes to food. One day we ordered a small bag of green coffee and started roasting it in our kitchen oven. The smell of fresh coffee filled the entire house—and we were instantly hooked. The only downside? It produced a fair bit of smoke, and let's just say not everyone in the house was as excited as we were.
Next came a popcorn machine we found at a flea market for just 10 NOK. Between teaching ski lessons in Hemsedal, we'd head outside and roast tiny 50g batches in all kinds of weather.
Our very first paying customer's coffee was roasted on that little popcorn machine in -22°C. It took nearly an hour to roast enough coffee, but every minute was worth it.
Those humble beginnings eventually grew into the roastery you know today.
We hope roasting your own coffee brings you the same excitement it brought us.
